In 2009, the investment in industrial technical reconstruction of Hubei Province reached RMB133.19b, with an increase of 46.1%. This is the first time for Hubei’s technical reconstruction exceeded RMB100b, which marks the acceleration of industrial upgrading. In projects of technical reconstruction, there were 6,194 new projects, 5,717 completed projects that were put into production, and 7,082 projects that were under construction, and all of them broke the record. In the key industries of iron and steel, petro-chemistry, equipment manufacturing, light industry, textiles and electronic information, technological reconstruction was significantly speeded up, whose growth rate of investment were above 50%.
